PIXCIR Microelectronics officially branched out into the area of projected capacitive touch controller after iPhone’s initial launch in 2007. After two years with the joint efforts of the big global players, PIXCIR successfully got the world's first authentication of Microsoft Win7, and also became the world's first company to provide touch screen solutions of larger than 10inch. PIXCIR is not only the global technology leader, but also one of the few companies which can get into mass production of capacitive touch IC at this stage.
PIXCIR attaches great importance to intellectual property rights, and has filed more than 80 patent applications in the world. The global top five PC vendors are using PIXCIR’s chips, and have launched more than ten different products, all popularly received by the world. PIXCIR will not only continue to work hard on innovative product development by cooperating with its partners in the touch industry chain, but also still spare no effort to protect its intellectual property rights around the world.
Elan posted a message on its company's website in January 2010, saying it had sued PIXCIR in the U.S. state of Nevada, alleging that PIXCIR’s Tango S32 conflicts with Elan patent (patent no. US 5825352) which was purchased from Logitech (this patent can be only used in the United States).
PIXCIR hereby declares:
1. Since the release of this news on Elan’s website, PIXCIR has not yet received any U.S. court summons. As China and the United States are Parties of the Hague Convention, PIXCIR is obliged to subject its actions to international supervision, and will continue to ignore Elan’s continuous false news.
2. PIXCIR’s technology is much more advanced than Elan’s, so there is no suspect of patent conflict. PIXCIR is the only company which successfully overcame the difficulties of large-sized touch screen application, and its patents did not receive any query during over a year’s public announcement in Europe and Taiwan.
3. PIXCIR attaches importance to intellectual property rights, and will also do investigations and take legal action if some companies are suspected of copying PIXCIR’s technology.
Currently, PIXCIR has filed a lawsuit in Suzhou court against Elan for false propaganda and violation of fair and public competition. The court session formally opens on the 2nd, June. We will wait the verdict of Suzhou court.
